Surveyors party marked rock behind Mt Riverview shops.

1813
Blue Mountains crossed by Blaxland, Wentworth and Lawson.

1824
Zig zag road built by Lawson (?).

1907
First plans made for subdivision of Mt Riverview.

1914
Land from Dixon Road to Emu Plains Road classified as special area held for return soldiers.

1920
First sale of land -Chas R Granquist (Lot 181).

1922
Land purchased by Reginald Tompkins.

1923
Last lot (184) purchased by F.T. Buxell.

1931
Bernard Francis Cummins built a lookout in a tree on his property at the end of Bunbinla Ave and named it Mt Riverview Lookout. He built tea rooms and a gallery and the site became a tourist attraction.
The Crown Land adjoining Cummins property was declared "for Public Recreation" and the name "Mt Riverview" appeared for the first time on the survey map.

1934
Mt Riverview described in Nepean Times as "the Dress Circle of the Nepean Valley."

Mt Riverview Lookout mentioned in the Wilsons Street Directory.

1944
Bushfire totally destroyed the Lookout, gallery, tearooms and Cummins's house.

1952
Ian Ferguson and Godfrey Hall purchased the land bounded by Bunbinla Ave, Rusden Road and Moril Ave from Bernard Cummins with the view to creating the "Mt Riverview Village" for for ex-service men and women.

1953
'A Village is Born' - Plans, reportedly sponsored by the All Services Welfare Society, a subsidiary of the Australian Legion of Ex-servicemen and Women, featured in 'The Express'. It was to be a community village with all profits returned to the village. A total of 800 homes, 14 shops , a community centre, club, two churches and a school were to be erected over a period of five years.
Each house was to be set in a spacious half acre, the streets were to be lined with orange trees and there were to be graceful natural stone walls.The village was to be a show place and an example to others. Emphasis was to be placed on outdoor living with the liberal use of patios and slanting the homes to capture the magnificent views.

1953
Building lots developed in Bellereeve Avenue.

1954
Ian Ferguson, the owner of the land on which 'the Village' was to be built, was advised by his solicitor to go bankrupt so that a liquidator could be appointed to straighten out his "confused" financial state. The 50 people who paid money for the land had nothing to show for the money they paid to Ferguson.

Development from the southern side of Bunbinla Ave to Cherrywood Ave.

1957
Anthony Ave and Marguerite Avenues were created.

1959
Lot 183 purchased by Blue Mountains City Council from the sons of Reginald Tompkins, Clive and Errol Tompkins. Portion of this land was sold to the Department of Education for the School in 1962.

1960
Panorama Cres and Dixon Road subdivided.

1961
Development of Curvers Drive - named after the owner of the land at that time.

1962
Department of Education bought land from the Blue Mountains Council for the new "Blaxland" School. Mt Riverview Water Tower built by the Blue Mountains City Council to hold 9,100,000 litres of water and supply Mt Riverview, Glenbrook and Blaxland.

1964
Mt Riverview officially gazetted by the Blue Mountains City Council.
A large subdivision completed north of Rusden Road which included Emu Plains Road and Grandview Drive.
Council subdivided the remainder of the 'Tompkins' land making provisions for shops, water tower, recreation facilities and community services.

1969
A Departmental Officer recommended that a School be built to commence in Term 1, 1971.
In August C.B. Cutler approved the establishment of the School. It was to be named Mt Riverview Public School.

1971
School commenced in Feb. - four classes - totalling 106 pupils, in the grounds of East Blaxland School. In June classes occupy Mt Riverview school site.

1974
Official Opening of the School.

1976
The last major development in Mt Riverview with the establishment of the Blackbutt Circuit Estate.

1977
Lots 34-40 Blackbutt Circle purchased from Mountainside Pty Ltd and added to the School at a cost of $90,000.

Sydney Water took over control and supply of water to the Blue Mountains.

1981
Shops (29th August) and Pre School opened.

1983
Restoration and 150th Anniversary of Lennox Bridge.
Completion of pipeline from Emu Plains pumping station to the Mt Riverview Water Tower.

1987
Subdivision of Dr Harley Roberts land to create 12 home sites in Applegum Place

1995
Water Tower relined to improve the water quality of the area.

1997
'Town Sign' erected at Dixon Road.
